Jade Maréchal, a life at 100 miles per hour!
Jade Maréchal, a fencer supported by BPCE Assurances, is a member of the French national team. Her specialty is the foil, a ‘conventional weapon’ that she has been practicing since she was 9 years old. The young fencer from Bordeaux has already built up an impressive track record, including two European team champion titles.
Fencing, a revelation
Fascinated by the elegance and history of this discipline since she was a child, Jade entered the fencing world at the age of 9, following in the footsteps of her older sister. She then dedicated herself wholeheartedly to practicing the foil, won the French Championships at 16, and gradually began to dream of the Olympic Games. She joined the French national team in 2018 and subsequently entered the National Institute of Sport, Expertise, and Performance (INSEP). After winning several national titles, Jade revealed her talent in team competitions, winning multiple medals in World Cups and claiming victory at the U23 European Championships in 2022 and 2023. She particularly appreciates this collective aspect: “It’s incredible all the emotions you feel when you triumph as a team!”
The taste for challenge and sharing
In addition to her sports career, Jade is also an entrepreneur, public speaker, and student at an international business school. She divides her time between her daily training sessions, classes, and professional activities, putting her whole heart into everything she undertakes. Jades thrives in this life at 100 miles per hour, which calls for a lot of organization and a strong dose of determination. This enables her to combine her sports career with her professional projects, guided by her desire to share her experience with as many people as possible: “Sport brings important life values that apply to many everyday situations. By sharing my experience as a high-level athlete, I hope to give others the strategies they need to overcome the fear of failure or reluctance to take risks.”
Her driving force: a strong and present support network
“My parents and sisters have given me unfailing support at the important moments in my life, in times of joy as well as disappointment." Jade's close friends and family, a loyal group of supports, take their place in the stands whenever the opportunity arises. This provides Jade with a definite advantage that has become one of her real strengths, and which she is now extending to her professional network: “I came to realize that the people who’ve been part of your life’s journey or members of your support team have a huge influence on your physical and mental well-being, and therefore, by extension, on your performance." This testifies to the importance of the support provided to her by BPCE Assurances since 2022: “There is a before and an after BPCE Assurances. I no longer have to worry about my finances – which is a not insignificant advantage – but, above all, there is this feeling of being supported!"
